Our History

Blessed 2 Be Home formally began in 2004 as a work from home resource center.  In 2005, after much success with assisting telecommuters and providing private services locally, the owner decided that this company would better service the public by offering office administrative services as well as home employment and staffing.  After going through several developmental changes and location changes between 2005 and 2006, Blessed 2 Be Home is now ready to service the small businesses and individuals with their business, staffing, and employment needs.

Our Owner

Kantrese M. Smith

Williamsburg, VA

Kantrese is a very ambitious, kind, spiritual and intelligent young woman.  She is the mother of one young daughter and a loving wife.  In 2000, Kantrese graduated from Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, VA with a grade point average of 3.96.  She was very involved with her school.  She participated in many sports and as the captain on some of the many teams such as Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field, Cross Country, Cheerleading Squad, Dance Team, Ram Band and Percussion Ensemble.  She did all of this while maintaining a high grade point average.  Kantrese also participated in S.T.A.R. which is Student Academic Recognition Club as well as the President of the French club.  She went to Eastern Kentucky University in the summer of 2000 with her best friend Allison Smith on a partial track scholarship and academic scholarship.  She again participated in many sports and clubs such as Indoor/Outdoor Track, Cross Country, and R & B Dance Team.  Kantrese is one of the founders of the R & B team, she assisted with her friend and fellow member Stephanie to name the team Dancing Diamond Divas or Triple D for short.  She enjoyed her time while she was there.  However, her time there was cut short due to severe injury to her knees.  In 2001, when she returned home, she was diagnosed with Dysphasia (potential first stages of Cervical Cancer).  She overcame that by the grace of our Creator.  Kantrese began working from home as a Recruiter for a medical discount company.  She also was a Supervisor of a photo shop at Busch Gardens.

In 2002, she had a near death accident trying to avoid hitting an animal.  Prior to the accident, she had just begun working at the Heritage Humane Society as a Shelter Technician and the Spay & Neuter Coordinator.  Kantrese is also a volunteer for the VA Siamese Rescue.  Also, she began at home 2 year program for Veterinary Assistant to gain book knowledge of what she learned hands on at the humane society.  In 2003, she got married to her husband Howard and in December of 2003, they were blessed with Noelle Winter-Marie.  She also began working to own her own home-based business.  She came in contact with a representative of a wellness company and built a business off of that.  In addition, she had tried finding home employment during her pregnancy because there wasn’t a maternity leave plan at her job.  Kantrese felt bad for many people who had been scammed by fraudulent individuals and companies.  She began developing a home business to help professional telecommuters find legitimate jobs from home.

Kantrese initially began Blessed 2 Be Home in December of 2003 offering free leads to companies she had researched or worked for from home.  To help people more, she started doing specialized searching for free.  Because of an overwhelming request she had to start charging for this service.  In 2004, Kantrese went back to college with Kaplan University online to pursue her AAS degree in Paralegal Studies.  In 2005, Kantrese was promoted to Director of Business Operations (originally Manager of Business Development & Operations) at the humane society.  In addition, for Blessed 2 Be Home and with her improved administrative skills, she decided to offer other services that would help both telecommuters and companies.  She wanted to develop the business more.  In 2006, she graduated from Kaplan with her degree in Paralegal Studies with the highest honors.  Kantrese also re-enrolled into Kaplan’s Criminal Justice program to pursue her advanced start Bachelor’s degree to assist with her investigative skills.

After many revisions and developmental changes, Blessed 2 Be Home has many wonderful services to offer businesses and individuals.  Kantrese’s hard and diligent work made Blessed 2 Be Home what it is today.
